The Aquabot Basic and its big brother Aquabot Turbo are the first two models running on tracks rather than wheels. They are both designed for square shaped pools. The Turbo requires 4 hours of labour to clean a pools floor, walls and waterline. Account for 2 more hours for the Basic to do the same job, which makes it 30percents slower, but does produce the same quality results. If you have a need for maximum flexibility, look into the Aquabot Turbo T series, which are all equipped with tracks and brushes.
Inground pool cleaners function under the concept of Hydraulics. They were invented by a Belgian Congoborn engineer named Ferdinand Chauvier. He transferred to South Africa and invented the first automatic pool cleaner in 1951, as a solution to the tedious and repetitive task of poolcleaning. His invention does not require the use of any harmful chemicals and it functions together with a pool filter. In 1974, the very first commerciallyavailable automatic cleaner was released by the same inventor.
Because pressure side automatic pool cleaners are connected to the return line fitting of the swimming pool, the pool skimmer is left open to draw dirty water and debris from the surface of the pool. These pool cleaners act as a roving return line, and help eliminate dead spots in the swimming pool which are not reached by the circulating action of the main filter system. These pool cleaners deposit debris into a special filter bag instead of inside your pool filter system.
