A lot of it depends on the pools actual design and how it takes advantage of natural features. Contact a professional for a consultation. If you tell your landscape designer what your goals are, they may be able to recommend the optimum size for your salt water pool. There are a number of salt water pool designs that will satisfy any need. Your salt water pool designs must work with the unique characteristics of your property. Your pools design should enhance and not distract. It is easy to think a simple circular or rectangular shape will work on your property, but salt water pool designs allow for flexibility.
When deciding to buy an in ground swimming pool, there are many things to consider regarding the pools design. First, think about how big the pool should be and how much space is available to fit the pool. Second, consider who will use the pool and what kind of design will suit the needs of the swimmers. For example, children would benefit from a pool with a shallow end and other amenities so they can play safely and enjoy themselves. A pool design that is family friendly or appropriate for anyone who just wants to cool off and relax is a play pool.
Your contractor should be licensed to build pools. You can search the internet to see what kind of licenses they should have. Allow only a licensed contractor to create your swimming pool designs. Dont be afraid to ask your swimming pool contractor about his license. While you are searching the internet, be mindful of those contractors who have complaints listed against them. If there are numerous problems, keep searching until you find contractors with positive reviews. Try to obtain at least three references in order to determine whether or not the contractor will perform the work to your standards.
For example the edge of the pool must not be slippery with wet feet which is a common cause of accidents. At the same time you will need a system for draining water that spills over the edge, both from a safety point of view and to provide wasting water and unintentionally emptying out the pool. Finally though your pool also needs to look good, and for many people the aesthetics are one of the biggest appeals of a good swimming pool. Your swimming pool will need to be made from a great attractive material, and will also benefit from other cosmetic touches such as unusual shapes or patterns on the tiling.
A pool thats at a constant depth of 4 feet is sufficiently deep to splash around and swim the occasional lap in, but also shallow enough to provide safety for the whole family. If you want to use your pool for some serious exercise, then the dimensions of your pool require more critical consideration. For lap swimming, a pool at least 25 feet long and 3.5 feet deep is recommended, with typical lengths ranging form 25 to 40 feet. There are also dedicated lap pools that are relatively very narrow, and therefore fit in constrained spaces.
