If youre looking at your backyard oasis as a fitnessonly refuge from the daily grind, you might consider constructing a lap pool. These swimming pools are great for individuals who dont have much yard space and for whom a swimming pool will be for fitness, rather than family recreation use. These lap pools are long and narrow. On the other end of the spectrum are those homeowners who plan to use their swimming pools as a backyard oasis for many, months of the year. In this instance, the homeowner could opt for a tropical oasis swimming pool.
These largely involve the landscaping and design of the area surrounding the pool. You may want to surround the pool with a patio or a deck, add a pool house, a gazebo, an outdoor bar, furniture, etc. In addition, you may want the pool itself to be designed for looks, with a stylish shape, rather than just for functionality. Carefully hiding pool equipment will also make the pool area more appealing. Spending time at your pool can be very relaxing, and the proper amenities will make it even more enjoyable.
At the same time though, if you want to use a swimming pool purely for exercise, you might be best off just heading to the local public swimming pool, unless you have space for a fairly big pool in your back yard. Most people however will not want their swimming pool for training and will want it more for relaxing in and playing games. In this case a less narrow design will be more suitable and you will want a round or square pool that allows you to do these things. Often a more interestingly shaped pool will allow for multiple sections, perhaps a seating area and an area for playing in.
