Lily Mcguire. Pool Cleaner. February 19th , 2018.
The Aquabot Basic and its big brother Aquabot Turbo are the first two models running on tracks rather than wheels. They are both designed for square shaped pools. The Turbo requires 4 hours of labour to clean a pools floor, walls and waterline. Account for 2 more hours for the Basic to do the same job, which makes it 30percents slower, but does produce the same quality results. If you have a need for maximum flexibility, look into the Aquabot Turbo T series, which are all equipped with tracks and brushes.
It functions under the same concept but it uses 2 motor pups instead. The additional pump is a booster to help increase water flow and pressure. It may be more efficient than its predecessor but a pressuredriven pool cleaner runs on more energy because of its extra motor pump. However, a few pool owners dont mind the added cost because of its increased efficiency. A suction side cleaner is another popular option. It looks like a vacuum cleaner that sucks dirt from the pool floor through its underside. Owners of this kind of automatic cleaner rave about its ease of usage and assembly.
The Turbo T Jet sits on four wheels and is quite identical to the Pool Rovers mentioned in the previous section. It is specifically designed to clean abrasive floor surfaces such as concrete surfaces for pools of up to 50 squareorfeet in size. This brushless pool cleaner uses a water jet to clean abrasive surfaces, where other pool cleaning robot models tend to wear and tear their brushes. The Turbo T Jet has a cleaning time of 1 hour and is programmed with an auto shutoff feature after 2 hours.
The more common types of cleaners are the suctionside driven, pressureside driven, robotic and returnside driven cleaners. The last one, though, has lost its popularity due to high maintenance costs. Its dedicated motor pump and need for bigger volumes of water make it less energyefficient and costly to maintain. Older pools may still have these cleaners but new pool buyers prefer to use more modern pool cleaners. The pressure sidedriven cleaner is a close offshoot of the return sidedriven pool cleaner.
There is a wide selection of automatic pool cleaners available for any budget, and every size InGround or AboveGround swimming pool. There are three different types of automatic pool cleaners for In Ground pools and Above Ground pools, and they are classified by the way they collect debris and move around the pool. Suction Side automatic pool cleaners are connected to your pool skimmer and Pressure Side automatic pool cleaners connect to a return line fitting of your pool. Robotic pool cleaners work independently from your pool filtration system, and are powered by electricity.
